Career Profile:

·         He had his postgraduate medical training at B J Medical College, Ahmedabad, India & obtained MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) in 1990.

·         He worked in various hospitals including University teaching hospitals in U.K. from 1991 to 1996, where he received his basic training in ultrasound & endoscopic surgery. He also obtained MRCOG (the British post-graduate degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology) in 1994.

·         He started his private clinic at Ahmedabad and practiced from 1996 - 2004. He received Endoscopic Training from various FOGSI recognized endoscopy training centers.

·         Currently he is one of the directors of Mayflower Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad. It is a recognized centre by FOGSI (Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Societies of India) and Karl Storz, Germany for the training in advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynaecology.

·         He is associated with Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad as a visiting Consultant Endoscopic Gynaec Surgeon.

·         He has been invited at several Endoscopic workshops & Conferences as a faculty in different parts of the country.

·         He has been a member of Endoscopic Committee of FOGSI.

·         He is also a life member of IAGE (Indian Association of Gynaec Endoscopists) since 2003.

·         Along with Dr Sanjay Patel he was awarded the 1st prize of Golden Telescope at the Vth Indian Congress on Endoscopy & ART at Khajuraho, India in November 2004 for a video presentation on ‘Prevention and Management of laparoscopic complications”.

·         He has special interests in Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, Laparoscopic Myomectomy & Laparoscopic Surgeries for Endometriosis.

·         He has trained 367 doctors for Laparoscopic Gynecological surgeries since 1998.

·         He attended Asia-Pacific Congress of Endoscopy (APAGE) in Taiwan in October 2004.

  • In April 2005 he attended International Society of Gynaec Endoscopists (ISGE) in the year 2005 at London where he made his presentation on “Prevention & Management of Complications at Laparoscopy”.
  • During 22-25 September 2005 in the 9th Regional Meeting of ISGE conference at Mumbai he made presentations on
    1. Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Anterior Compartment Adhesions.
    2. Laparoscopic Myomectomy

  • During 1-5th May 2003 he was invited as a chair person on symposium on Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy at National Conference on Endoscopy at Kochin conducted by Indian Association of Gynaec Endoscopists (IAGE).
  • During 14th & 15th June 2003 he attended infertility update 2003 conference hold by Advanced Fertility & Endoscopic Center, Ahmedabad.
  • During 14th-16th November 2003 he attended at International Congress on Infertility under the auspices of FOGSI at Bombay.

  • During 25th-28th November 2004 at The Vth Indian Congress on Endoscopy & ART at Khajuraho, India he made presentation on ‘Prevention and Management of laparoscopic complications”. It was the award winning video in the competition.
  • He had participated actively in the conference organized by BEAMS (Bombay Endoscopy Academy and Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery) in association with IAGE & AMASI (Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India).
  • In November 2004 he made his presentation on “Laparoscopic Endosuturing” the World Congress on Practical Infertility Management & Human Reproduction held at Mumbai.

Live Workshops

  • During 27th-30th December 2000 he participated on Ultrasonography in High Risk Pregnancy in 44th AICOG held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • On 29th July, 2001 he participated in Gynaec-Urology Update: symposia & Live Operative Workshop at Ahmedabad organized by AOGS.
  • On 18th & 19th august 2001 he participated actively in the National Interactive Workshop on Advance Gynaec Endoscopy held at V.S. Hospital, Ahmedabad.
  • During 15th-17th August 2003 he was faculty & organizing secretary at International Workshop on Minimally Invasive Surgery, conducted by The Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad. It was one of the biggest workshops of its kind in India involving Gynaecologists, Urologists & Gastro-Enterologists.
  • In December 2003 he participated in the pre-congress workshop on Fetal surveillance SOGOG at Rajkot, Gujarat.
  • On 5th February 2005 he actively participated in pre-congress workshop on “Comprehensive Healthcare to Menopausal Women in Modern Era” held by IMS Society at Ahmedabad.
  • In February 2005 he conducted mini workshop on “Laparoscopic Hysterectomy” at Mayflower Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • In May 2005 he conducted mini workshop on “Fertility Enhancing Surgeries” where they performed different varieties of around 17 surgeries in two days at Mayflower Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • In September 2005 he was one of the operating faculties at 9th Regional Meeting of ISGE workshop, Bombay.
  • During 5th-9th January 2006 at 49th AICOG Kochin he was one of the operating faculties.
  • On 16th April 2006 he participated actively in the one day workshop organized by Baroda Ob & Gy society.
  • In February 2006 (2nd-5th) along with other directors of the Mayflower Women’s Hospital and under the auspices of APAGE (Asia-Pacific Association of Gynaecological Endoscopy), he organized the 1st national event composed of The ART & Endoscopy Workshop and Conference (Progress & Challenges in Infertility and Endoscopy) at Ahmedabad. In Endoscopy workshop he and other operating faculties from abroad performed 21 surgeries in one day.
