On-Site Comprehensive Semen Testing Laboratory

The Mayflower Women's Hospital in Ahmedabad Center for Reproductive Medicine has a comprehensive FOGSI-accredited (Federation of Obstetricians and Gynecological Society of India) Andrology Laboratory. Having an on-site laboratory within the center provides patients with maximum privacy and convenience. Private semen collection facilities are available within the Center and close to the laboratory for patient comfort. The following fertility testing services are available at the Center for Reproductive Medicine's Andrology Laboratory:

• Sperm morphology by World Health Organization (WHO) criteria
• Sperm morphology by Kruger Strict Criteria
• Semen cryopreservation
• Postvasectomy semen analysis
• Qualitative seminal plasma fructose testing
• Sperm washing for intrauterine insemination, using partner sperm
• Sperm washing for intrauterine insemination, using donor sperm

When the patient arrives at the Center's Andrology Laboratory, specially trained laboratory technicians provide him with written semen collection instructions and answer any questions he may have. Understanding the proper methods of collection is important to ensure accurate fertility testing results. The patient is then shown to a private semen collection suite, which is close to the laboratory and within the Center for Reproductive Medicine. Following collection, the patient is asked to complete a questionnaire to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting of fertility results to the patient's physician.
