General & About Mayflower
Mayflower Women's Hospital in Ahmedabad is nationally recognised as one of India's leading centres for endometriosis treatment and advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery. We also provide comprehensive care in IVF, fertility, obstetrics, maternity, pelvic rehabilitation, and women's aesthetic medicine, all under one roof in Ahmedabad.
Dr. Smeet Patel at Mayflower Women's Hospital is one of India's most experienced laparoscopic surgeons for complex and deeply infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), including cases involving the bowel, bladder, and ureter. With over 8,000 surgeries, he is sought by patients from across India and internationally for endometriosis cases that have not been resolved elsewhere.
Yes. Mayflower Women's Hospital regularly treats patients from the UAE, UK, Kenya, Southeast Asia, Canada, and other countries, primarily for endometriosis surgery and IVF. Our International Patient Services team manages consultations, treatment planning, visa documentation, and post-treatment follow-up remotely.
Mayflower offers a full range of fertility treatments, including IVF, IUI, ICSI, egg freezing, embryo freezing, Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), laser-assisted hatching, donor sperm and egg programmes, and fertility preservation for cancer patients. Our IVF success rate shows 45% of patients conceive in their first cycle, with a cumulative success rate above 90%.
Mayflower Women's Hospital has two locations in Ahmedabad: at Helmet Crossroads, Drive-in Road (main centre), and a second branch in Bopal.
Yes. Mayflower offers video consultations with gynaecologists, fertility specialists, and endometriosis surgeons. Online consultations are available for patients in other cities, NRI patients, and international patients planning to visit. Appointments can be booked through the website or by calling us.
Three things: specialisation depth, integration, and scale. Mayflower is the only hospital in Gujarat with a dedicated Endometriosis Clinic led by a nationally recognised specialist in complex laparoscopic surgery. All women's health services, from IVF to postnatal aesthetics, exist under one roof, allowing multidisciplinary care without referrals to other institutions. And with 85,000+ surgeries and 22,000+ deliveries, our clinical experience speaks for itself.

IVF & Fertility
IVF & ART Overview
ART stands for Assisted Reproductive Technology. It covers the range of fertility treatments used to help you conceive, from IUI, which is relatively simple, to IVF and ICSI, which involve more steps. Your specialist recommends the option that fits your specific diagnosis, not the most complex one available.
It depends on your fertility diagnosis. IUI is usually tried first for mild male factor or unexplained infertility. IVF is generally recommended for blocked tubes, more significant male factor infertility, or when IUI has not worked. Your specialist will assess your case before recommending either.
Our cumulative IVF success rate, across everyone who completes a full course of treatment, is over 90%. About 45% of patients conceive in their first cycle. Your own chances depend on your age, ovarian reserve, and medical history.
It can. Endometriosis is a factor in up to half of the infertility cases we see, and it may change whether surgery is recommended before IVF. At Mayflower, our endometriosis surgeons and fertility specialists plan these cases together.
Book a consultation. Your first visit usually includes a review of your history and some baseline tests, which give your specialist enough information to recommend the right starting point for you.
IVF Success Rate
View Full PageOur cumulative IVF success rate, across everyone who completes a full course of treatment, is over 90%. About 45% of patients conceive in their first cycle. Your own chances depend on your age, ovarian reserve, and medical history, which we go through in detail at your first consultation.
It is the success rate across a full course of treatment rather than just one cycle. If a patient needs two or three cycles to conceive, the cumulative rate counts that as a success. We think it is a fairer number than quoting only the best single-cycle result.
We can give you a realistic estimate once we have your AMH level, follicle count, hormone panel, and medical history. No clinic can promise an exact number or guarantee a result, and we will not tell you otherwise.
Yes. Age affects both how many eggs you have left and their quality, and it is the single biggest factor behind IVF success rates at any clinic. This is one reason we recommend an earlier fertility check if you are 35 or older and have been trying for six months without success.
We review what happened in that cycle in detail, egg quality, embryo development, and your response to medication, and adjust the plan for the next attempt. Many of the patients inside our 90%+ cumulative figure needed more than one cycle to get there.
IVF Cost
View Full PageIt depends on your protocol and whether procedures like ICSI, genetic testing, or a donor programme are part of your plan. We give every patient a written, itemised estimate after the first consultation, so you know the real number before you commit.
Because a single published price cannot account for your specific protocol, medication dose, or whether add-ons like ICSI or PGT apply to you. A number that does not match your actual treatment is not useful to you, so we wait until we have your details before quoting.
No. Your estimate is itemised upfront. If your treatment plan changes mid-cycle for a clinical reason, we explain the change and the cost impact before going ahead, not after.
Yes. IUI is a simpler procedure than IVF and generally costs less. Whether IUI is the right choice for you, rather than IVF, depends on your specific fertility diagnosis, which we assess at your first visit.
Book a consultation, or share a few details through the form on this page and our fertility team will call you. Once we have your history and any test results, we can put together a real, itemised estimate.
Endometriosis & IVF
View Full PageNot always. It depends on the stage of your endometriosis and your fertility history. Your surgeon and fertility specialist will look at your case together and tell you honestly whether surgery first gives you a better chance, or whether it is safe to go straight to IVF.
Surgery on or near the ovaries can affect your egg reserve, which is why the technique used matters. Our approach is planned to protect your ovarian reserve as much as possible when surgery is needed. Your specialist will talk you through the specific risk for your case before you decide.
Endometriosis is a factor in up to half of the infertility cases we see. It does not mean pregnancy is impossible. It means your treatment plan needs to account for it directly instead of treating your fertility and your endometriosis as two separate problems.
Both, working from the same plan. At Mayflower, our endometriosis surgeons and our IVF team review complex cases together, so you are not repeating your history to two doctors who have never spoken to each other.
Painful periods, pain during sex, or pain that does not add up are worth getting checked, especially if you are also trying to conceive. A scan and a consultation can usually tell us a lot before any surgery is even discussed. Book an appointment and we will start there.
Egg Freezing
There is no single correct age. Egg quality tends to decline gradually through your 30s, so freezing earlier generally means better quality eggs. That said, the right time depends on your own circumstances and test results, which is why we recommend a consultation rather than going by age alone.
The daily injections cause mild discomfort for most women, similar to any injection. The egg retrieval itself is done under sedation, so you should not feel it during the procedure. Some cramping or bloating afterward is normal and usually settles within a few days.
Frozen eggs can generally be stored for many years without a meaningful drop in quality, since freezing effectively pauses their age. Storage terms and renewal are things we will walk you through directly, since they vary by situation.
No. It improves your options, but it does not guarantee a future pregnancy. Not every egg survives thawing and fertilisation. We will talk through realistic expectations for your specific case before you start.
Endometriosis can affect egg reserve over time in some women, so it is a reasonable thing to discuss with a specialist sooner rather than later. It is not a decision to make from a symptom list alone. Book a consultation so we can look at your specific case.
Endometriosis Treatment & Medical Tourism
Surgery is generally recommended when hormonal treatments have failed to control your symptoms, your pain significantly impacts your quality of life, endometriosis is affecting your fertility, or imaging suggests deep infiltrating disease involving the bowel, bladder, or ureter. If you have had a previous surgery and your symptoms have returned, excision surgery at a specialist centre - rather than repeat ablation - is strongly worth considering. Share your reports with us for a consultation.
Complete excision - the surgical removal of all endometriotic tissue - gives the best long-term outcomes and lowest recurrence rates. Ablation burns the surface of lesions but leaves the disease behind, which is why recurrence rates after ablation are high. At Mayflower, we perform excision surgery exclusively, guided by the Butterfly Peritonectomy and Rule of M protocols. Our observed recurrence rate is less than 2%.
The cost of endometriosis surgery at Mayflower depends on the stage and complexity of your disease - whether bowel resection, ureteric dissection, or additional procedures are required. As a general reference, comprehensive endometriosis excision surgery in India typically costs 60 to 80% less than equivalent surgery in Canada, the UK, the USA, or the UAE. We provide a transparent, itemised cost estimate after reviewing your medical reports - before you commit to travelling.
Yes - and thousands of women do every year. Endometriosis surgery does not require a long hospital stay. Most patients are discharged within two to three days. We recommend remaining in Ahmedabad for approximately seven to ten days post-operatively before flying, to allow for initial recovery and any required follow-up. We provide full travel planning guidance as part of your treatment package.
Mayflower's international package covers your pre-travel consultation, diagnostic workup, surgery, anaesthesia, nursing care, post-operative physiotherapy, and teleconsultation follow-up after you return home. Non-clinical support includes a dedicated case manager, medical visa assistance, and optional add-ons such as airport transfers, executive room accommodation, translator services, attendant meals, extended-stay coordination, and sightseeing support for companions. Your single point of contact manages all of this from your first enquiry through to discharge and beyond.
Most international patients plan for approximately 10 to 14 days in Ahmedabad. This covers arrival consultation and pre-surgical workup (2 to 3 days), surgery and hospital stay (~3 days), and initial recovery before flying (5 to 7 days). We provide a personalised timeline after reviewing your case.
India - and Mayflower specifically - is an excellent option for deep infiltrating endometriosis, including cases involving the bowel, bladder, ureter, and diaphragm. These are precisely the cases where most centres worldwide refer out or decline to operate. Our multidisciplinary team manages the full complexity of DIE in a single procedure, with outcomes that compare favourably with those of leading centres globally.
Physiotherapy & Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
View Full PageYes. Pelvic floor weakness is not limited to women who have had children. It can develop with age, hormonal changes, physical strain, or following other gynaecological concerns. An assessment will help determine the right approach for your specific situation.
HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology, used in the Kegella Chair at Mayflower, generates focused electromagnetic energy that induces powerful pelvic floor muscle contractions. A single 28-minute session can trigger thousands of contractions. Unlike Kegel exercises, which depend on correct technique and consistency, HIFEM treatment delivers controlled stimulation regardless of the patient's ability to voluntarily activate their pelvic floor.
Urinary incontinence, particularly stress urinary incontinence triggered by coughing, sneezing or exercise, is one of the most common indications for pelvic floor rehabilitation. HIFEM-based treatment may help strengthen the muscles that support bladder control. However, urinary incontinence can have several causes, so a consultation with Dr. Ravina is the right starting point to confirm whether pelvic floor rehabilitation is appropriate for your specific type of leakage.
Each session lasts approximately 28 minutes. You remain fully clothed throughout, and there is no downtime afterwards. The number of sessions recommended depends on your symptoms, pelvic floor function and treatment goals, Dr. Ravina will guide you based on your individual assessment. A course of sessions is typically recommended rather than a single treatment.
Pelvic floor rehabilitation, including HIFEM-based treatment, may be considered for postpartum women after appropriate recovery and medical clearance. The timing and suitability depend on your individual recovery, the type of delivery, and whether any other postpartum concerns need to be addressed first. Dr. Ravina will assess this during your initial consultation.
Yes. Mayflower Hospital offers specialist pelvic floor rehabilitation, including HIFEM Kegella Chair treatment, in Ahmedabad. Dr. Ravina consults at both our Memnagar campus (Helmet Crossroads, Drive-In Road, Memnagar, Ahmedabad 380054) and our Bopal centre (2nd Floor, Satyamev Elite, Ambli Junction, Sardar Patel Ring Road, Bopal, Ahmedabad 380058).
Consultations with Dr. Ravina are available by appointment, use the booking form above or call our team to schedule.
Physiotherapy
View Full PagePhysiotherapy is generally arranged as part of your care plan by your treating doctor, whether after surgery or as part of pelvic floor rehabilitation. Speak to your doctor or our team to understand what applies to your situation.
Timing depends on your specific procedure and recovery. Your surgical team will advise when physiotherapy support should begin for your case.
Yes. Pelvic floor rehabilitation at Mayflower combines Kegella Chair HIFEM treatment with physiotherapy guidance from our in-house team, coordinated by Dr. Ravina Patel.
Yes. Postpartum physiotherapy support is available following both normal delivery and C-section, once your doctor confirms you are ready to begin.
Skin & Aesthetics
Anti-Ageing Treatment
View Full PageMost of our anti-ageing treatments, including Monopolar RF skin tightening, Botox, dermal fillers, and pigmentation treatments, are non-surgical. Non-Surgical Facelift and a few other procedures may involve either invasive or non-invasive options depending on your goals, which your dermatologist will discuss with you at consultation.
All anti-ageing treatments at Mayflower Aesthetics are performed or supervised by Dr. Ashini Bhatt, a dermatologist and cosmetologist with over 14 years of experience.
No. Monopolar RF has no downtime, with quick recovery and immediate relief after each session. A typical session lasts around 8 minutes, and improvement builds progressively over the following weeks as collagen density increases.
That is the goal of every treatment plan here. All procedures are performed or supervised by experienced dermatologists specifically to keep results looking natural rather than overdone, and each plan is customised to your skin type, age, and goals.
It depends on your skin, your concerns, and your goals. Start with a consultation, where Dr. Ashini Bhatt will assess your skin and recommend a personalised plan rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
Botox
View Full PageMost people describe it as a brief pinch at each injection point. The needles used are very fine, and the whole treatment is usually over within a few minutes.
The effect is temporary and generally lasts a few months before it gradually fades. How long it lasts for you specifically can vary, and Dr. Ashini Bhatt can talk you through what to expect based on the area treated.
Most people return to normal activity right away. Mild redness or small bumps at the injection sites can happen and usually settle within a few hours.
There is no fixed age. Some people start early to soften the lines that come from repeated expression before they set in, others come in later once lines are already visible at rest. It depends on your skin and your goals, which is exactly what the consultation is for.
Done well, Botox should soften lines without changing how your face moves in an obvious way. The dose and placement matter a great deal, which is why treatment is performed by a qualified medical professional who assesses your specific facial anatomy first.
Hair Loss Treatments
View Full PageGenetics, hormonal changes, stress, nutritional deficiency, and some medical conditions can all cause hair loss. Since the cause affects which treatment will actually help, we start every case with an assessment rather than a generic recommendation.
GFC stands for growth factor concentrate. It is our PRP protocol at Mayflower Aesthetics, using a concentration of growth factors from your own blood to support hair follicle activity, performed under medical supervision.
Generally, non-surgical treatments like PRP, IV drip therapy, or mesotherapy work best for early or mild thinning. More advanced hair loss, where the hairline has receded significantly or an area is fully bald, usually needs a surgical transplant. Dr. Ashini Bhatt will tell you honestly which category your case falls into.
No treatment can guarantee a specific result, and we will not tell you otherwise. What we can offer is an honest assessment of your hair loss and a plan built around what is realistic for your specific case.
It is a surgical procedure, performed under local anaesthesia, moving hair follicles from a donor area to areas of thinning or baldness. Dr. Ashini Bhatt will walk you through exactly what the procedure and recovery involve at your consultation.
Laser Hair Reduction
View Full PageYes. Indian skin tones often fall under Fitzpatrick Skin Types III to VI, which need specialised laser technology. We use dual-wavelength laser technology built for exactly this, including tanned skin.
Yes. Our dual-wavelength technology, the 810 nm wavelength together with Alexandrite for finer hair, is effective on coarse, thick and stubborn hair, which is common in Indian hair types.
It is called reduction rather than removal for a reason. Most people see a significant, long-lasting reduction in hair growth over a course of sessions, with regrowth becoming progressively finer and eventually minimal, though occasional maintenance may help.
Yes. We treat women looking for long-term freedom from waxing and shaving, men with excessive beard, neck, ear or shoulder hair, working professionals, and models, media professionals and hospitality staff who want smooth, presentable skin.
No. Our Soprano ICE technology targets only the melanin in the hair follicle, not the surrounding skin, and uses advanced cooling to prevent burns, pigmentation or skin damage when performed by trained professionals.
Hospital Facilities & Support Services
HDU / HDSU
View Full PageICU is for patients who need intensive, life-support level intervention. HDU/HDSU is for patients who are more stable but still need closer monitoring than a general ward, often after surgery.
Not necessarily. Whether you need HDU/HDSU care depends on the type of procedure you have and how your recovery is progressing. Your surgeon will advise you before your procedure if this applies to you.
Visiting arrangements in HDU/HDSU are managed by our nursing team to balance your recovery with your family's support. Please check with our care team for current visiting guidance during your stay.
HDU/HDSU support is available at our Memnagar campus. Please contact our team to confirm the right location for your specific procedure and care needs.
Cafeteria & Diet Services
View Full PageYes. Our on-site cafeteria is available to family members and attendants staying with a patient, not only to patients themselves.
Where dietary requirements are relevant to your treatment or recovery, our team can coordinate this as part of your care plan. Speak to your treating doctor or our care team about your specific needs.
Nutrition can play a supporting role in conditions like PCOS, pregnancy, and fertility care. Where relevant, dietary guidance is coordinated as part of your treatment plan with your doctor.
