Urinary incontinence, particularly stress urinary incontinence triggered by coughing, sneezing or exercise, is one of the most common indications for pelvic floor rehabilitation. HIFEM-based treatment may help strengthen the muscles that support bladder control. However, urinary incontinence can have several causes, so a consultation with Dr. Ravina is the right starting point to confirm whether pelvic floor rehabilitation is appropriate for your specific type of leakage.

Each session lasts approximately 28 minutes. You remain fully clothed throughout, and there is no downtime afterwards. The number of sessions recommended depends on your symptoms, pelvic floor function and treatment goals, Dr. Ravina will guide you based on your individual assessment. A course of sessions is typically recommended rather than a single treatment.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation, including HIFEM-based treatment, may be considered for postpartum women after appropriate recovery and medical clearance. The timing and suitability depend on your individual recovery, the type of delivery, and whether any other postpartum concerns need to be addressed first.
