Frequently Asked Questions

High-risk pregnancies at Mayflower are managed by our specialist obstetrics team with continuous monitoring throughout. This includes regular growth scans and foetal heart monitoring, close coordination with our foetal medicine specialist Dr. Shaiju Patel, and access to our NICU for newborns requiring additional support after delivery. If your pregnancy is identified as high-risk - whether due to pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancy, or a pre-existing condition - you will be placed on an enhanced care pathway from your first consultation. Our team will explain your specific risk factors and the monitoring plan at each stage.

Mayflower's maternity rooms are designed for comfort and privacy. Rooms are equipped with adjustable beds, Wi-Fi, a television, an attached bathroom, a sleeping arrangement for one accompanying family member, and a nurse call system. Labour rooms include foetal monitoring equipment and are staffed around the clock. For specific room availability and configurations, contact our admissions team at +91 6352 800 850.

After delivery, our postnatal support includes lactation counselling to support breastfeeding, newborn care guidance for first-time parents, post-operative care and pain management for mothers who have had a C-section, physiotherapy for recovery where indicated, and emotional support through our nursing team and, where needed, our counselling service. Most mothers are discharged within 48 to 72 hours of delivery, with a follow-up appointment scheduled before they leave.

Standard visiting hours at Mayflower are [confirm hours with hospital team]. We ask that visitors be limited to two at a time to ensure patient rest and recovery. ICU and NICU visits are managed separately with specific protocols. For patients who have undergone surgery, we recommend limiting visitors for the first 24 hours to support recovery. Please check with the ward nursing team on the day for any temporary restrictions.

Mayflower's Cosmetology department offers medically supervised aesthetic treatments including Laser Hair Reduction, skin rejuvenation, acne and scar treatment, pigmentation and skin whitening, anti-ageing treatments, and Gynaec Cosmetology procedures including vaginal rejuvenation and pelvic floor rehabilitation. For general ward and private room patients, light home-cooked food in sealed containers is permitted. However, patients who are post-operative or on a specific dietary protocol prescribed by their doctor should follow their care team's nutritional guidance rather than bringing outside food. Our cafeteria and in-room meal service are available throughout the day. If you have specific dietary requirements - including vegetarian, Jain, or allergen-restricted meals - inform your nursing team on admission.

Why Mayflower

Patient-Centric Approach

We understand that each woman who comes to Mayflower arrives with her own history, her own fears, and her own definition of what a good outcome looks like. From the moment you walk through our doors, our team takes time to listen - not just to your symptoms, but to your concerns, your questions, and your goals. Your treatment plan is built around your needs, not a standard protocol. Whether you are here for a routine consultation or a complex surgical procedure, you will be treated as an individual, not a case number.

Comprehensive Care

Women's healthcare does not begin and end with a single condition. At Mayflower, we are here for every stage of a woman's life - prenatal care and family planning, menstrual health and hormonal conditions, fertility treatment and IVF, complex gynaecological surgery, maternity and postnatal recovery, and aesthetic and reconstructive care. Having every speciality under one roof means your care is joined up, your records are shared between teams, and you do not have to start from scratch every time you see a different doctor.

Innovation to Impact

Our dedication to innovation is not theoretical. The Rule of M, the Butterfly Peritonectomy, the 5 Steps of Ureterolysis - these are techniques developed at Mayflower, validated through thousands of cases, and now taught to surgeons across India and internationally. The result is a measurable recurrence rate of less than 2% for endometriosis, outcomes that draw patients from across Gujarat, India, and over 26+ countrie, and a fellowship programme that is shaping the next generation of gynaecological surgeons.

Leading Specialists

Our team of specialists is not generalists who occasionally treat women's conditions. They are dedicated experts - endometriosis surgeons, fertility specialists, foetal medicine experts, aesthetic doctors - who have chosen to focus their careers on one discipline and become the best at it. When you come to Mayflower, you see the right specialist for your specific condition, not whoever is available.
