Our Gynaecology Specialists
Conditions We Treat
Our gynaecology team manages a wide range of women's reproductive health conditions - from common concerns to complex cases requiring minimally invasive surgical intervention.
A - C
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Heavy periods, bleeding between cycles, or bleeding after menopause are not conditions to simply "monitor." Abnormal uterine bleeding can be caused by fibroids, polyps, hormonal imbalance, adenomyosis, or in some cases, uterine cancer - each requiring a different treatment approach. Our gynaecologists investigate thoroughly before recommending management, which may range from hormonal therapy to hysteroscopy or minimally invasive surgery.
Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis occurs when the uterine lining grows into the muscle wall of the uterus, causing heavy, painful periods and an enlarged uterus. It frequently co-exists with endometriosis and can significantly affect fertility. At Mayflower, adenomyosis is managed medically or surgically depending on severity - with uterus-preserving surgical options available for women who wish to conceive.
Cervical Health & Colposcopy
Regular cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to detect and prevent cervical cancer. Our gynaecology team provides cervical screening (Pap smear), colposcopy for abnormal smear results, and management of cervical dysplasia - with referral to our Women's Oncology team where needed.
D - F
Dysmenorrhoea (Painful Periods)
Severe period pain that disrupts your daily life is not normal - and it is not something you should be told to manage with painkillers. Dysmenorrhoea may be primary (no identifiable cause) or secondary - caused by endometriosis, adenomyosis, or fibroids. Our gynaecologists identify the underlying cause and treat it, rather than masking the symptom.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is one of the most undertreated and misdiagnosed conditions in women's health. If your period pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by pain during sex or bowel movements - specialist assessment is essential. Mayflower is India's leading endometriosis surgical centre. See our dedicated Endometriosis Specialist page for full information.
Fibroids (Uterine Fibroids)
Fibroids are benign growths in or on the uterus that can cause heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, frequent urination, and fertility difficulties. At Mayflower, fibroid management includes medical treatment and minimally invasive myomectomy (fibroid removal surgery) - preserving the uterus for women who wish to become pregnant. Our laparoscopic surgeons are experienced in single and multiple fibroid cases, including large or deep fibroids.
G - M
Gynaecological Infections & PID
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) and other gynaecological infections - including bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and sexually transmitted infections - require accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment. Untreated infections can cause chronic pelvic pain, fertility damage, and long-term reproductive harm. Our team provides confidential, judgement-free assessment and treatment.
Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal conditions including thyroid dysfunction, elevated prolactin, androgen excess, and hypothalamic amenorrhoea affect menstrual regularity, fertility, mood, weight, and skin. Our gynaecologists work with our wider multidisciplinary team - including our IVF specialists and aesthetic doctors - to assess and manage hormonal disorders holistically, not in isolation.
Menstrual Irregularities
Irregular, absent, or unpredictable periods are your body's signal that something needs attention. Causes range from PCOS and thyroid conditions to excessive exercise, nutritional deficiency, and stress - and occasionally, more complex reproductive conditions. Our team investigates thoroughly, explaining what is happening and why, before designing a treatment plan.
N - P
Ovarian Cysts
Many ovarian cysts are benign and resolve on their own. Some - including endometriomas (chocolate cysts) - require surgical management. Others may raise concern for malignancy. At Mayflower, ovarian cysts are assessed with specialist ultrasound and clinical evaluation to determine whether monitoring, medical treatment, or laparoscopic surgery is appropriate. We do not operate unnecessarily - but we do not miss what matters.
PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)
PCOS is one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women of reproductive age - yet it is frequently underdiagnosed and poorly managed. Symptoms include irregular periods, acne, hair loss, weight gain, and difficulty conceiving. At Mayflower, PCOS management is personalised - addressing the specific manifestation in your body rather than applying a standard protocol. Our team includes gynaecologists, fertility specialists, and nutritionists who work together for a genuinely integrated approach.
Pelvic Pain (Chronic)
Persistent pelvic pain without a clear diagnosis is one of the most frustrating experiences a woman can have. It may be caused by endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, adhesions, ovarian cysts, or musculoskeletal factors - and frequently by more than one of these simultaneously. Our gynaecologists take chronic pelvic pain seriously and investigate systematically until the cause is found.
R - V
Recurrent Miscarriage
Experiencing two or more pregnancy losses requires a thorough investigation - not reassurance and another attempt. Our team assesses chromosomal, hormonal, uterine, immune, and thrombophilic factors to identify the underlying cause and design a management plan that gives the next pregnancy the best possible chance.
Urinary Incontinence & Pelvic Floor Disorders
Stress incontinence, urge incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic floor dysfunction are common after childbirth or with ageing - and are highly treatable. Our uro-gynaecology team offers conservative management through pelvic physiotherapy and, where needed, minimally invasive surgical repair.
Vaginal & Vulval Conditions
Recurrent thrush, lichen sclerosus, vestibulodynia, and other vulval and vaginal conditions significantly affect quality of life and are frequently undertreated. Our gynaecologists provide specialist, sensitive assessment and evidence-based treatment for conditions that many women feel too embarrassed to discuss elsewhere.

When Should You See a Gynaecologist?
Do not wait for a "good reason" to see a gynaecologist. Come to us if:
- Your periods are so heavy or painful they are disrupting your work, sleep, or daily life
- Your periods are irregular, absent, or have changed significantly
- You have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success (or 6 months if you are 35 or older)
- You have persistent pelvic pain - during your period, during sex, or throughout the month
- You have noticed unusual discharge, bleeding between periods, or bleeding after sex
- You have been diagnosed with PCOS, fibroids, or an ovarian cyst and want a specialist opinion
- You are due for a cervical smear or have received an abnormal result
- You simply want a thorough check-up by a specialist who takes women's health seriously
You do not need a referral to book a consultation at Mayflower.
Why Choose Mayflower for Gynaecological Care?
Specialists, not generalists
Every doctor in our gynaecology team has a defined area of focus - endometriosis surgery, fertility, obstetrics, or minimally invasive surgery. You see the right expert for your condition, not whoever is available.
The multi-specialty advantage
Women's health conditions rarely exist in isolation. PCOS affects skin, fertility, and weight simultaneously. Endometriosis overlaps with IVF. Hormonal conditions connect to thyroid, adrenal, and reproductive health. At Mayflower, your gynaecologist works alongside our fertility specialists, endometriosis surgeons, aesthetic doctors, and nutritionists - in the same building, sharing your records. No referral delays. No information gaps.
India's leading endometriosis centre - in your gynaecology team
If your condition turns out to be more complex than a standard gynaecological presentation - if it involves endometriosis, deep infiltrating disease, or multi-organ involvement - you are already in the hands of India's most experienced endometriosis surgical team. No second referral required.
Minimally invasive whenever possible
Our surgeons default to laparoscopic and hysteroscopic approaches - smaller incisions, faster recovery, less scarring, and better outcomes compared to open surgery.
Certified. 85,000+ surgeries performed
The clinical standards, safety protocols, and outcomes at Mayflower are held to national accreditation requirements - and validated through two decades of surgical practice.

A gynaecologist specialises in women's reproductive health outside of pregnancy - conditions like PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, and gynaecological cancers. An obstetrician manages pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. At Mayflower, many of our doctors are trained in both - they are Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (ObGyn) - providing continuity of care across all stages of a woman's reproductive life.
PCOS cannot be cured in the conventional sense, but it can be very well managed - and its symptoms can be significantly reduced or resolved with the right treatment. Management at Mayflower is personalised to your specific presentation, whether the primary concern is irregular periods, fertility, acne, hair loss, or weight. We do not apply a standard protocol - we design a plan for you.
Our minimally invasive surgery programme includes laparoscopic myomectomy (fibroid removal), laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic cystectomy (ovarian cyst removal), endometriosis excision surgery, operative hysteroscopy, and endometrial ablation - among others. All minimally invasive procedures are performed at our Memnagar surgical centre by experienced laparoscopic surgeons. Most patients are discharged within 24 to 48 hours.
Yes - gynaecology OPD consultations are available at both our Memnagar and Bopal locations. Diagnostic services and fertility treatment are also available at Bopal. Minimally invasive surgical procedures are performed at Memnagar, and our Bopal team coordinates the transition smoothly for patients who require surgery.
Period pain caused by endometriosis is typically more severe than normal dysmenorrhoea - it may start before the period, last throughout, and extend to the lower back, bowel, or legs. It often does not fully respond to standard pain relief. If your period pain is affecting your ability to work, exercise, or function normally, or if you also experience pain during sex, bowel symptoms around your period, or difficulty conceiving - an endometriosis assessment is strongly recommended. Our gynaecologists and endometriosis specialists work in the same team at Mayflower.
